Artist: Astor Quartet Album: The Tsunami Sessions Track: Circadian Rhythm
Other Tags: experimental, ambient

Throw in equal parts Autechre, Tosca, Aphex Twin and Plaid. Grip your headphones tight and turn off the Light... Rhode Island's, Michele Doucet (aka 'astor')(music and production) has been composing music for the past seven years covering the electronic spectrum from ambient to deep beats. 'the tsunami sessions', astor's debut album, is a labor of love over three years in the making. Electronic and organic, nestled snugly between chaos and order. somewhat reminisce of "the Residents" instrumental work, a little bit of "The Mothers of Invention" humour or perhaps "Polygon Window"-era "Richard James". these little tunes mood changes when listened to at night, where they unexpectedly reveal a more serpentine, sensuous nature. the tsunami sessions marks a fine debut from astor; Michele a. doucet's. The Tsunami Sessions musical construction is energetic tuneful, and spends time in both musical and experimental modes. Here's looking to hearing more... Astor Quartet

I got pitchfork to thank for this one, like a broken watch that's correct a few times a day, pitchfork happen to come through this time, Essentially a project by Swedish Pop Queen Sally Shapiro And musician Johan Agebjorn, The style of the music harks back to the synthesized dance sound of Italo Disco. Sally Shapiro's singing style is dreamy, and pleasant to the ear. She reminds me of St Etienne mixed with Air. Fans of the afore mentioned bands (St Etienne and Air) might find much to enjoy here, as would fans of Italo disco. to conclude "Disco Romance" is an album worthy of attention.

Listened to the original on MySpace, it has a good feel, I think it has a trip-hop sound. I see that on the remix album she will be working with Canadians: Junior Boys and Holy Fuck. Must be that Canadian/Scandinavian northern connection!

"Thieves like Us" are a Swedish American trio based in NYC. Influenced by old italo disco and Factory Records releases, this Their 1st single. The band Originally was Formed In Berlin Back In 2002. This Track "Drugs In My Body" Is A Remix By The "Twelves" There Are Many Other Mixes Of This Song But This Ones My Favorite. These Guys Are An Up And Coming Band Which We Will Hear More Of In 2008. The Music Video for This Song is Actually parts Of This obscure 1980s drama "Christiane F" The Movie based on the true experiences of 14-year-old Christiane Felscherinow, a German teen whose relative boredom led her to Follow a life of drugs and prostitution.

Thanks for posting this! I remember the Christiane F. movie, David Bowie appeared in it. Thanks to Christiane, I developed an addiction to peach juice (her favourite drink, mentioned in the book.)

Good song BTW!
