Artist: Album: Endless Highway

I know I am. This tribute album (release date: January 30, 2007) comes at the height of my obsession with The Band. I've been less than enthralled with tribute efforts of the past, namely Encomium in which several 90's artists got together and botched song after song from the catalog of Led Zeppelin. But I have high hopes for Endless Highway, because I think songs by the Band are more accessible than those of Led Zeppelin; I mean, look at how great the Last Waltz turned out, e.g. the Staples Singers collaborating on "The Weight," etc.

The playlist can be found at: http://www.429records.com/endlesshighway I'm especially looking forward to My Morning Jacket's take on "It Makes No Difference" and Blues Traveler's version of "Rag Mama Rag."

Yeah, I'm very excited about this. I heard about it a while back on the Band website (http://theband.hiof.no). Some of those tracks really sound great. I also like seeing some of the lesser known tracks make the cut, like "Acadian Driftwood". I wish someone had done "When You Awake", I love that song.

If you haven't checked out My Morning Jacket's performance of It Makes No Difference from this year's Bonnaroo, I strongly suggest heading over to the Live Music Archive.

Ryan Adams & The Cardinals are performing in New York City on December 4,5, and 6 at the Town Hall. Anyone going? I think I might be going to the show on the 5th (Tuesday). Should be an awesome concert

No, but I do love your Top Artist Of The Month, Todd Rundgren, though! Nice to see him getting more Pub.

I also like 'The Band' especially their 'Stage Fright' cd, engineered by Todd Rundgren! Nice profile photo of 'The Band' there!

Grr... I checked on Thursday and debated for a day on whether or not to fly to NYC. Went back on Friday and it was SOLD OUT. I'm not surprised it was, but I am so bummed. I was going to try to make the Tuesday night show as well... Next time I guess.

It's so great to be a fan of Ryan Adams because it seems like he's always coming out with new material. I mean, 8 albums in about 6 years? I can't think of any other artists outputting such high-quality work in such high quantities. Rock on, Ryan!

Have you listened to the streaming audio on his website lately? He's got a bunch or weird rap and punk albums he's created under aliases. www.ryan-adams.com (Click on Cardinals Radio).
