Lollapalooza was an amazing time; I loved every single moment of it and wish it was still happening. I never wanted to leave.

4am Downtown Chi-town
Friday kicked off with a little "good morning" from Yannis (Foals) and Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl) who were all staying on our hotel floor, Yannis right next door and Eddie across. Than after that we walked to beautiful Grant Park and started our Lolla experience.

This ain't no OCTA, CTA biatch
I don't even know where to go from there… let's see there were bands like The Parlor Mob, who just got off a tiny tour with Albert Hammond, Jr. and Electric Touch who is starting one with The Fratellis, both really good bands. The Enemy was stellar, can't forget them. Tom Clarke is a small but forceful fellow. The Kills completely killed it! In a positive way, of course. Your Vegas… amazing as always, duh. Caught a bit of Raconteurs who were, as would be expected, exceptionally great and some Bloc Party. CSS was perfect, Lovefoxxx was a riot, I love her. Radiohead, Radiohead, Radiohead – no words can explain.

That night is nothing but a blur. Let's see from running into YV constantly as well as other musicians staying in our hotel. To pissing the Jamaican valet guys off, sorry Murphy. There were the random convos in front of the hotel with Lolla attendees and those who had just played or were going to over the weekend. Talks about Japan and weather with Jack (Foals) and random drunken jibber jabber from everyone, including my dear friend Erica. Parties, booze, fucked up time zones, pot, empty streets, crowded bars. What was going on?!
We never went to sleep, that's for sure. So Saturday we decided to get to know Chicago a little better. Walked around, got some breakfast, checked out some shops than went to Lolla and got close up to see The Ting Tings. They really are outstanding performers, I mean seriously. I fell in love. It was just so good. Too good. Right after that Dr. fucking DOG. Ahh yeah nice meeting those guys… just ask Coast. Than it was the incredible performance of our neighbors and my favorite band Foals, yeah we all know they're good and if you don't now you do. MGMT came next, where we had to squeeze our way to the side because it was ridiculously crowded. I mean I've seen these guys a few times but never like this… they're huge now. After that not much worth telling… well Rage Against the Machine played, heard it was crazy and they had to stop like three times. Erica and I were tired since we hadn't slept in 36hours so we took a nap with the music full blast waking up little Ed from his catnap, too hahah.

Sunday we went shopping, kind of. We had breakfast at Corner Bakery where we ran into Foals and exchanged some words with Walter who is fucking tall. Than we went to good ol' Grant Park to see Black Kids, G. Love, Girl Talk, Mark Ronson, and of course Kanye West. All amazing performances, I mean really. The Black Kids are really nice, G. Love is smooth, we met Mark on Friday, I think he was lost, good, good, Girl Talk was crazy, and Kanye was surprisingly solid. Great way to end the weekend, not to mention the wild crowd afterwards going bananas. People climbing poles, tress, jumping on tour buses, yelling and completely taking over downtown Chicago.
Part of crowd during Girl Talk, look for the guy in the tree.
After Lolla
We were supposed to come home Monday night but once again our flight was delayed due to the weather, it was raining and there were thunderstorms, an airplane was even struck. Looks like whenever we're about to leave something always happens. But nonetheless it was an experience I shall never forget and wish it had never ended.

GOODBYE CHICAGO.
It's hard to choose a favorite Your Vegas track simply because I love them all, but I must say that Salvador is a beautiful, touching song. I recommend you really sit down and listen to the lyrics, it really is spectacular.
I've been obsessed with Foals since last year and this is one of my favorite songs. It's not on their album Antidotes though, so give it a listen and tell me what you think. A friend tells me it's from their Demos. If you like it you should most definitely check out their debut which is, in my opinion, amazing. Every song is different yet cohesive.

Maybe it's my mood today, but this is the first time in 3 or 4 listens to this band recently, that they've caught my attention. I wonder why this song didn't make the album.
