Mrs.Forgetful

Mrs. Forgetful
Written By: Pamela Novikoff / Larry Killam

Verse One
I pay tax with my money, give clothes to the needy
Help out when I can, don't like to be greedy
So I made a mistake, didn't call jury duty
If I go to jail, if I don't make bail
Will you forgive me

Chorus
I'm Mrs. Forgetful that's what they're callin' me
It's not like I don't care at all, so won't they let me be
I write my list on a notepad, and I use the sharpest pencil
But I don't remember where it's at
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
I'm famous for being Mrs. Forgetful

Verse Two
So I wasn't there for you, is it such a crime
I rang your number to explain, you don't find the time
I have a lot to do, don't mean to ignore you
I'm forgettin' this, I've forgotten that
What else can I do

(Repeat Chorus)

Bridge
I found my keys in the cookie jar
Drove off to pay the bills with no gas in my car
Sunday morning the preacher said
Those slippers match the hat on your head

(Repeat Chorus)

His Empty Chair

Story behind the song.My Daughters Boyfriend had a heart transplant. His mother wrote a poem to the recipents Mother I asked her if I could add to it.Thanks for the collab everyone. What a surprise Pamela told me she needed time on this so I thought I wouldn't see this for at least another week. Thanks for the Birthday gift Pamela and Harry. Thanks for bringing this lyric to life.I appreciate it ever so much.

"His Empty Chair"

Haley/Killam/Leff

(Verse One)

What would I give if I could say, hello son in the same old way
To hear his voice to see his smile, to sit with him and chat a while
Those who have a Son, cherish him with care
For you will never know the heartache
Till you see his empty chair

(Chorus)

No one knows the tears I shed
When I look and see his empty chair
I cry all night, my eyes turn red
When I look and see his empty chair

(Break)

(Verse Two)

There's one sittin' at the table, where my son once sat and ate
I miss his tall tale fables, they say it's never too late
Tell them how much they're loved, hug them while they're here
You don't know when they'll be gone
And you see their empty chair

(Chorus)

No one knows the tears I shed
When I look and see his empty chair
I cry all night, my eyes turn red
When I look and see his empty chair

(Bridge)

I miss him so the years we had
He might be gone, but the memories I have

(Repeat Verse One)

What would I give if I could say, hello son in the same old way
To hear his voice to see his smile, to sit with him and chat a while
Those who have a Son, cherish him with care
For you will never know the heartache
Till you see his empty chair

Any Younger

In memory of our Guitar player Joe Brennan.Someday we will play again Joe.There's a big hole missing Joe.

This is the first song completed that I ever got to write face to face with any of my cowriters. Thanks Glenn it was fun.

Any Younger

Remember the days when we were younger
My first wife and I met when I sung her - a song
Times were tough and if that's not enough
now the whole worlds gone crazy
I reminice about the times I miss
playin in the band

We ain't gettin any younger, but we sure are gettin older,
these hands keep forgettin how to play
The signs are in the mirror, I'm not as young as I used to be
But we got our memories, we can sing today

Remember when we could, get out of bed
without the help of my good friends and those little red - pills
You that think that we have got it bad
till you listen to some of the stories
Donny hardly plays anymore
unless he's here with us

We ain't gettin any younger, but we sure are gettin older,
these hands keep forgettin how to play
The signs are in the mirror, We're not as young as we used to be
But we got our memories, we can sing today
L
CH
When we meet up yonder we will see
Our friends that we lost along the way
their not getting any older and were not getting any younger
But the band will be together again and we'll catch up and play

We ain't gettin any younger, but we sure are gettin older,
these hands keep forgettin how to play
The signs are in the mirror, and time has gone away
But we got our memories, we can sing today
Yeah we got our memories we can sing today
Yeah got memories, we can sing today

Darn It Darlene

Kip and my new song

Darn It Darlene

Chorus

Darn it Darlene
Don't you know I love you
If I had a darning needle
Well I'd darn with you til two or three
Or the break of dawn
Just to show I love you
Well I dare do anything for you
Just to prove I care

Verse 1

And oh darlene,
Dontcha know that I'm still keen
On getting back together
And forgiving everything
How you tore a hole in my heart
The size of Abilene
But I can patch it up
Just you wait and see

Chorus

Darn it Darlene
Don't you know I love you
If I had a darning needle
Well I'd darn with you til two or three
Or the break of dawn
Just to show I love you
Well I dare do anything for you
Just to prove I care

Verse 2

Oh Darlene
Why are you so dog gone mean
Some - times I think
I'm just your little go between
I wanna be your pumpkin
You wanna be my gillatine
You treat me like a trick
And every day is halloween

Chorus

Darn it Darlene
Don't you know I love you
If I had a darning needle
Well I'd darn with you til two or three
Or the break of dawn
Just to show I love you
Well I dare do anything for you
Just to prove I care
Pick it

Bridge

Wontcha be my darlin'
Wontcha be my bride
We can sew this whole thing up
For the rest of our lives

Chorus

Darn it Darlene
Don't you know I love you
If I had a darning needle
Well I'd darn with you til two or three
Or the break of dawn
Just to show I love you
Well I dare do anything for you
Just to prove I care
Take me home

When Jesus Bent Down

It pays to put your lyrics in your Blog

This is Kips and my latest song.Barrel Of Monkeys reached #1 in the Singers Songwriters weekly charts and When Jesus Bent Down reached #1 in Christian Gospel weekly charts at Songramp.Songramp is now owned and operated by NSAI Nashville Songwriters Association International.

I dedicate this song to anyone who has been judged from someone who was no better.Been there.I believe when we point a finger at someone we better look real hard there are 3 fingers pointing right back at us.Coincidence I think not.I belive God knew what he was doing all along.

When Jesus Bent Down

Chorus

[C] When Jesus bent down..
What did he [F] write in the© sand?
did he teach us not to judge
[G] and to love our fellow man
[C] always show compassion
[F] and be the best we can
when© Jesus bent down
what did he [G] write in the© sand?

V-1

I have [G] Questions in my mind.
about a [F] story from that© time
there was a woman they called adulteress
but what about the [G] guy?
[C] Was he a pharisee?
[F] or someone just like me
did they© drag him out too?
or [G] did they set him© free

Chorus

[F] When Jesus bent down..
What did he write in the© sand?
did he [F] teach us not to judge
[C] and to love our fellow [G] man
[C] always show compassion
[F] and be the best we can
when© Jesus bent down
what did he [G] write in the© sand?

V-2
there are [G] answers I don't know
from a [F] long time a© go
how she broke the laws of Moses
but was she [G] alone?
[C] Jesus bent down
and [F] so the story goes
and said© He without sin
let him [G] cast the first© stone.

Chorus

[C] When Jesus bent down..
What did he [F] write in the© sand?
did he teach us not to judge
[G] and to love our fellow man
[C] always show compassion
[F] and be the best we can
when© Jesus bent down
what did he [G] write in the© sand?

Bridge

[AM] Being convicted by their conscience.
[F] he cut them to the core
he said© woman where are your accusers now
[G] go and sin no more

Chorus
[C] When Jesus bent down..
What did he [F] write in the© sand?
did he teach us not to judge
[G] and to love our fellow man
[C] always show compassion
[F] and be the best we can
when© Jesus bent down
what did he [G] write in the© sand?
When Jesus bent down
What did he write in the sand.

Barrel Of Monkeys

It pays to repost in the Writers Room. This wasn't where I was going with this but I'm sure glad it's where Kip took it.Kip and I have written 5 songs together.

Barrel of Monkeys (The Swinging Life)

This ol' World's just a barrel of monkeys
swinging in the sun
sometimes you get kicked by a donkey it'll put you on the run
But good God almighty well I must confess
after all we've all been blessed
he's coming one day to clean up this mess
and it'll sure be fun

verse

Oh wide is the gate that leads to the gutter
you can't escape - coz it's slippery as butter
on a big tin sheet of bacon grease
you can't stand on your own two feet

get yourself up and don't complain
remember what OL' Tarzan said to Jane
see you later as he boarded the plane
the swinging life ain't for me

oh, a barrel of monkeys are lottsa fun
if you don't mind playing with a loaded gun
but if you get too old and don't recall
get yourself a bottle of geritol

I'm turning 50 in a couple of days
my back hurts and my eyes are glazed
but I still remember what Tarzan said to Jane
the swinging life ain't for me

chorus

Eh This ol' world's just a barrel of monkeys
swinging in the sun
sometimes you get kicked by a donkey
and it'll put you on the run
But good God almighty well I must confess
after all - we've all been blessed
he's coming one day to clean up this mess
and it'll sure be fun

bridge

what have we done
in the noon day sun
forgotten every single word
he taught about love

chorus

Hey this ol' world's just a barrel of monkeys
swinging in the sun
sometimes you get kicked by a donkey
and it'll put you on the run
But good God almighty well I must confess
after all - we've all been blessed
he's coming one day to clean up this mess
and it'll sure be fun

Flip Flop Summer Song

This is my Flip Flop Summer song.Just a demo we want to add sound effect to to give it that extra hook I think it needs.Someone said it reminded them of Roger Miller's writing which just made my day.Too bad Roger ain't around to sing it.I could use the money since I lost my job after 28 years due to plant closure. It is what it is.

She Listens To Hip Hop In Her Flip Flops

Killam/Marchetti

She listens to hip hop in her flip flops.
As she flaps down the side walk.
She listens to hip hop it's non stop.
She don't even realize we're around.

The dogs are barking all over town.
They seem to hate it when she comes around.
The neighbours are complaining they don't understand.
What turns that girls frown upside down.

She listens to hip hop in her flip flops.
As she flaps down the side walk.
She listens to hip hop it's non stop.
She don't even realize we're around.

The police on the corner don't know what to say.
They just look at her in a bewildered way.
But if they knew what to say and they said it to you.
You couldn't hear them anyway.

Oh She listens to hip hop in her flip flops.
As she flaps down the side walk.
She listens to hip hop and it's non stop.
She don't even realize we're around.

Don't know what's worse the flip or the flop.
The pop of her gum or the hip to the hop.
Must sound good to her flipping that flop.
But to me it sounds like Snap Crack Pop.

She listens to hip hop in her flip flops.
As she flaps down the side walk.
She listens to hip hop and it's non stop.
She don't even realize we're around.

She listens to hip hop in her flip flops.
As she flaps down the side walk.
She listens to hip hop and it's non stop.
She don't even realize we're around.

Bluegrass Rules

The story behind the song:

I was listening to a song and thought I heard the singer say Sheriff Coaltrain which I didn't.I love songs with someone's name in the title so I thought it was about time I write one.Someone in the writers room wanted to know what happened to the Sheriff cause I didn't have no details about what happened to him.I was thinking about my Dad when I wrote it.My Dad hates videos cause in his mind he has his own version of what the song is saying then he sees the video and it destroys his vision of the song.I asked Kip to look at it.I don't think I blink an eye and he had the deatails added. Then he includes me at the end of the song.I'm still splitting my guts every time I hear it.I dedicate this song to my Dad who is 74 and just love Westerns.

Original Lyrics:

Just something from Mr.Wannabe

Larry Killam©copyright~All rights reserved

Sheriff Coaltrain

Sheriff Coaltrain was riding home one day.
Sheriff Coaltrain was riding home one day.
He never really saw it coming.
He never did and that's the fact.
Sheriff Coaltrain was riding home last May.

He had a heavy burden that he carried.
And a rifle at his side.
He had a heavy burden that he carried.
And a rifle at his side.

And they say the soul
Can't last long that way
Watch your back Sheriff.

He had a heavy burden that he carried.
And a rifle at his side.

Shefiff Coaltrain was riding home one day
Sheriff Coaltrain was riding home one day.
He never really saw it coming.
He never did and that's the fact.
Sheriff Coaltrain was riding home last May.

Sheriff Coaltrain was riding home last May.

And that lonesome road he travelled
Was like a bullet in his back.
And that lonesome road he travelled
Was like a bullet in his back.

And no matter where you travel
You better watch your back.
And no matter where you travel
You better watch your back.

Sheriff Coaltrain was riding home last May.
Sheriff Coaltrain was riding home last May.

SHERIFF COALTRAIN

Marchetti/Killam

Sheriff Coaltrain

Sheriff Coaltrain was riding home one day.
Sheriff Coaltrain was riding home one hot and dusty day.
He never really saw it coming.
He never did and that's the fact.
Ol' Sheriff Coaltrain took ...
a bullet in his back

He had a heavy burden that he carried (slight pause)
He had a heavy burden that he carried.
And a rifle at his side.
Cause he was the only law
that anyone can recall
women and men cried the day he died

And that lonesome road that he travelled
Was a long and righteous path
til some drunkin' thieven men
cowards to the end
put a bullet in sheriff coaltrains back

(Some sort of pickin' break w/dobro slide)

(bridge)

and that long black veil hung mighty low
and he breathed his last breath
just before his son showed
after he put
his pa to rest
he made a vow
and pinned that badge on his chest

One by one they was riding home
One by one them ol' sons a bitches was riding home alone
They never really saw it coming.
They never even turned around
the new Sheriff Coaltrain put'em in the ground
Lord Lord
The new Sheriff Coaltrain put'em in the ground.

Three Second Kiss

This is one that Sam helped me on looking for a singer

Lyrics:
(Lyrics Larry Killam & Robert Thomson Music By Robert Thomson)

Three Second Kiss
Lyrics By Larry Killam
Music By Robert Thomson
Thursday, July 27, 2006

V-1
We met at your cousins' wedding..
That was more than twenty years ago.
Your Dad asked me to give you a kiss..
So at his request I did

Bridge
Didn't have a clue what was going on.
But now that I'm hooked what do I do.

Chorus 1
A three second kiss is a long long time.
I should know it happen to me.
That three second kiss caused me such pain
Never will I ever be the same

Instrumental

V-2

Went to the fair met a lady there.
With that Daisy Duke look a like..
She was selling kisses for just two bucks.
Told her about our three second kiss.

Bridge
This is what she had to say.
Three second kiss ain't very long.
And they really don't mean a thing
A three second kiss would sell for about a dime.
And baby that wouldn’t be worth my time

Chorus 1
A three second kiss is a long long time.
I should know it happen to me.
That three second kiss caused me such pain
Never will I ever be the same

You Are

V-1

People who do you say I am.
When your back with your buddies
People who do you say I am.
When your back with your buddies.
And I'm not around.
Who do you say I am.
More importantly.
Who do you say I am.

Chorus 1
You are more than just a swear word.
More than John the Baptist.
More than Elijah.
Or even Jeremiah.
More than any phophet.
You are the great I am.
More than any phophet.
You are the great I am.

V 2

Peter who do you say I am?
When your fishing with your buddies.
Peter who do you say I am?
When your fishing with your buddies.
And I'm not around.
Who do you say I am?
What is your response?
Who do you say I am?

Chorus 2

You are more than just a swear word.
More than just a teacher.
More than Elijah.
Or even Jeremiah.
More than any phophet.
You are the great I am.
More than any phophet.
You are the great I am.

Bridge

You are the great Messiah
Living Son of God.
You are the great Messiah
Living Son of God
You are the great Messiah.
Living Son of God.
You are the great Messiah.
Living Son of God

Chorus 1 again

You are more than just a swear word.
More than John the Baptist.
More than Elijah.
Or even Jeremiah.
More than any phophet.
You are the great I am.
More than any phophet.
You are the great I am.

Bridge again

You are the great Messiah
Living Son of God.
You are the great Messiah
Living Son of God
You are the great Messiah.
Living Son of God.
You are the great Messiah.
Living Son of God

Chorus 2 again

You are more than just a swear word.
You are more than a teacher.
More than Elijah.
Or even Jeremiah.
More than any phophet.
You are the great I am.
More than any phophet.
You are the great I am.

Outra

Simon Son of Jonah.
You are blessed.
Flesh and blood.
Didn't revealed this to you.
But my Father which is in heaven

You Play On

I think this is one that a lot of people will be able to relate to.All those Games even the head games.

Eddie My Bro. I owe you big time. Thanks for the first co-write this is so unbelievable.
Copyright 2005 - Killam / Minyard
Lyrics-Larry Killam/Eddie Minyard
Melody & Vocals-Eddie Minyard
Guitar-Fast Eddie

You Play On
V1
Back in the 60's when we were both kids
I remember everything we did
shooting marbles over in the park
You played for keeps, and won my heart
If I knew you were only shooting bull
Today I might seem much less of a fool
Chorus
We played London Bridge is falling down
Hide and seek and kick the can
Skipping rope and skipping stones
Skipping school to be alone, with you

I'd say "May I take a giant step
Into your arms" You'd say "Not yet.""
I still remember days long gone
I was crushed, but you played on
V2
The farmer in the dell was lots of fun
I picked you for my wife, when it was my turn
I never told you just how bad I felt
When you smiled at me and then picked someone else
I saw you K-I-S-S-I-N-G
that bottle never seemed to point at me
Chorus
V3
The games you're playin now, last all night
I could say goodbye, but that wouldn't be right
Cause when you love someone You try to hold on
that's what I have always done, but
I hate this game called "Come Home at Dawn"
And still...you play on.

Chorus

Falling Star

I USED TO HAVE A LOT OF FANS
AROUND ME WAY BACK WHEN
I ALWAYS FELT SO FAMOUS IN THIS BAR
BUT THAT WAS THEN AND THIS IS NOW, AND I CAN'T GO BACK AGAIN
NOW I'M JUST ANOTHER FALLING STAR

UP ON THAT STAGE I'D FLY SO HIGH
CLEAN TO THE MILKY WAY
MY FIRE USED TO LIGHT THE MIDNIGHT SKY
MY GOD, I REALLY MISS THOSE TIMES AS I WATCH THE YOUNG STARS PLAY
SOMETIMES IT HURTS SO BAD I WANT TO CRY

CHORUS:

I'M A FALLING STAR
JUST A BIT OFF KEY
JUST A FALLING STAR
MR.WANNA BE
I WISH I MAY,WISH I MIGHT
BE MORE THAN A SAD OLD FALLING STAR, TONIGHT

BREAK:
THEY SAY I WOWWED THE LADIES IN MY DAY
NOW THEY SEEM TO LOOK THE OTHER WAY
YA'LL COME BACK BEFORE I HIT THE GROUND
THIS OLD FALLING STAR MISSES YOU AROUND

SO I GUESS I'LL HAVE ANOTHER BEER
GET MY SELF BACK ON THE STREETS
GIVE THAT CORNER DOWN ON MAINSTREET ONE MORE TRY
I'LL SING MY SONG TO DAYS LONG GONE FOR EVERYONE I MEET
AND TELL EM HOW MY LIGHT ONCE FILLED THE SKY

I'M A FALLING STAR
JUST A BIT OFF KEY

Tomorrow Change Your Ways

this is my mothers favorite song of mine.

This is the first song of mine that Kip wanted to put sound to.Thanks Kip for bringing my lyrics to life.

Tomorrow Change Your Ways

Killam/Marchetti

You don't have to borrow love.
She'll be here tomorrow.
And there's no need to quarrel.
It just brings regret and sorrow.
Change your ways change your way.

And the moral of this story is.
She'll be here tomorrow.
Maybe even sooner.
So don't sit there on your laurel.
Change your way change your way.

You could rescue her like Zorro.
While she's looking for her Romeo.
She'll give you all kind of rainbow love.
But you can't touch her pot of gold.
Change your way.

And the moral of this story is.
She'll be here tomorrow.
Maybe even sooner.
So don't sit there on your laurel.
Change your way change your way.

And the moral of this story is.
She'll be here tomorrow.
Maybe even sooner.
So don't sit there on your laurel.
Change your way change your way.

Change your way before love decays.
Change your way.

Deleted Scenes

My Tribute to Johnny & June Cash

Deleted Scene ~ Glenn & Gita Pattison

Lyrics ~ Larry Killam & Glenn Pattison

Music ~ Glenn Pattison

Glenn really worked hard on this.Thank you Glenn for bringing another one of my lyrics to life.Man I think you could take my worst lyrics and make something out of them.(;YOU DA MAN;)Thanks once again.~(;Yrral Mallik;)

Deleted Scenes

Deleted scenes deleted scenes.
The man in black deserved more than that.
Johnny Cash the man in black.
Deserved more than deleted scenes.

Well I went to see the movie walk the line.
Really felt that Johnny was a friend of mine.
Then my oldest son bought it for my birthday.
And I watched the version with deleted scenes.

Deleted scenes deleted scenes.
The man in black deserved more than that.
Johnny Cash the man in black.
Deserved more than deleted scenes.

Once I saw all of those deleted scenes.
Sitting on the couch on my fifty second birthday.
I wished that they'd included them into the movie
Really made me angry that they took them out.

Deleted scenes deleted scenes.
The man in black deserved more than that.
Johnny Cash the man in black.
Deserved more than deleted scenes.Hey

Don't take me wrong you did a fine job.
I do appreciate what you tried to do.
You let us see the demons in his life.
And the love that he had for his beautiful wife.

But if your gonna make a movie about Johnny Cash.
Please include the deleted scenes.

Deleted scenes deleted scenes.
The man in black deserved more than that.
Johnny Cash the man in black.
Deserved more than deleted scenes.

Thank you Mr.Cash You hurt real bad.
You walked the line and Joined June in the sky.
Joined June in the sky Joined June in the sky.

She Listens To Hip Hop In Her Flip Flops

Songramp Writers Room Creation

This is just a demo that Kip and I want to add sound effect to to give it that extra hook I believe it needs.I was walking with my wife Bonnie and these lyrics came to me.Those Flip Flops she wears drives me crazy.I dedicate this song to my lovely wife Bonnie. My favorite picture of my wife.

About "Warning To The Nations":
My first lyrics I ever written way back in 79 I believe. This is a Warning to all Nations.

"Warning To The Nations"
(Larry Killam & Kip Marchetti BMI)

Warning To The Nations

Collab with Kip Marchetti BMI

Killam/Marchetti

[G] Jesus is Lord.
and he’s is coming again.
Jesus is Lord
and he’s coming to reign.

In the days of tribulation.
When the World is so corrupt.
And the serpent thinks hes in control.
And people are so blind.

This is the [D] warning to the nations
[C] Jesus is coming a [G] gain.
This is the [D] warning to the nations.
[C] Jesus is our Lord in [G] deed.

[G] When the anti-christ.
Tries to make this World his own.
And he calls his gang to war.
Against the forces of the Lord.

[G] The sounds of the battle ring Through the Armargedon.
Til' the last of his hoodlum gang.
beg for mercy and pray for grace
and the angels in a heaven sing

This is the [D] warning to the nations
[C] Jesus is coming a [G] gain.
This is the [D] warning to the nations.
[C] Jesus is our Lord in [G] deed.

When the [EM]saints cry to God.
The ones that died for their© faith in [G] Jesus.
[EM] Brother what a fight that will be..
[C] Brother what a fight that will be..
Glory [D] be....
