I once got into a conversation with a guy behind the counter at his store who had his TV showing one of his many tapes of his hockey fight collection. I learned that there is a whole subculture of guys who spend hours, even days, compiling and watching hockey fights. They record a game, then read in the paper when the fights were, cue the DVD or tape to those moments and copy them into their collection. Immersing themselves in hockey fights provides solace.
