Leonard Cohen's masterpiece is my favorite song of all time. I know people are crazy over Jeff Buckley's version, and Rufus Wainwright's also has many fans. While I appreciate both of the aforementioned versions of this song, my absolute favorite is this one, by John Cale. I enjoy John in all of his forms - the man is brilliantly idiosyncratic and eclectic, and each album is drastically different from the last. His cover of "Hallelujah" takes the cake, though -- something about his voice gets the song just right.
