Skynyrd was not what I thought they'd be. I know it's not the "original" Skynyrd, but when I'm shelling out upwards of $70 for mediocre seats, I want to see a good show. Anyway, they played the typical, popular Skynyrd songs. As my father and I are both avid Skynyrd fans, we were kind of disappointed with their set: there were no dynamics whatsoever! The show was, dare I say, boring! The only song that I enjoyed even remotely was "Free Bird," but that's a given.
Then Hank Williams Jr. comes out. My dad and I were only there for Skynyrd, but we stayed. His set lasted an hour, exactly, and he didn't even play an encore!
I have to admit though, he riffed on a few very good songs by Aerosmith, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis, and what songs he did sing were fantastic.
You know it's a good concert when Hank Williams Jr. plays the piano with his ass, anyway.
So what I'm trying to say here is, if you like Lynyrd Skynyrd, hold on tight to your albums and cds; the concert was not worth it at all. As for Hank Williams Jr...if you don't mind paying $70+ for an hour of his time, I guess it's all good.
Would I see them again? Maybe. But I seriously doubt it for that price.
