Amos Blackmore aka Junior Wells

Posted over 4 years ago
Hit Chicago at twelve years old and never looked back. By eighteen he was playing in the Muddy Waters Band. His album Hoodoo Man Blues is considered the first blues album recorded as such, not a collection of singles as was the practice beforehand. Blah, blah, blah, (my opinion) make up your own mind. Add Buddy Guy at his best.

  2. dermahrk says I really like this. Adding Junior Wells to my MUST BUY list. You mentioned Buddy Guy. I have a couple of his CDs (including one he did with Junior) and have seen several clips of him live. It seems to me Buddy is either really great or pretty terrible, which surprises me. The inconsistency definitely limits my interest.

  3. deadmandeadman says I've seen Mr Guy a few times. Once he was goin' through the motions, but each of the other times he was the consumate showman/gentleman/bluesman/guitar god.
