North. It doesn't sound like it'd come from an indie/pop band but Phoenix has made a wonderful instrumental song off their last album titled, "It's Never Been Like That." The song puts you in a great relaxed mood compared to the rest of the upbeat and catchy songs off the album.

Take a listen and enjoy!

Over a year ago a friend of mine had given me a mix cd which I re-discovered in my car while cleaning it out...this year. As I listened to the cd i realized it was basically a mix of different podcasts so of course my attention span shot to zero but before I was about to throw away the cd this song came across. Everything about it is so peaceful yet heart wrenching that I have made this one of my top 10 favorite songs of all time. The song begins with a powerful yet not over bearing guitar and piano part followed by a soft voice. I've only been able to make out a few of the lyrics seeing as how well his voice blends with the instruments. I have no idea why this album didn't pick up more steam when it was released in 2005. Hopefully Audible continues to create music rather than just end overnight like some bands tend to do.

When I first heard this song and what i mean by that is the intro, I assumed it was a song by The Smiths or even The Cure but of course I was wrong. Once the singing came in I realized it was one of my favorite retro bands, nightmare of you. Oh boy how I love that every single song by them is based around relationships (but what songs aren't now days?) but it's alright, the catchy synth lines make up for the not always great lyrics.

In all this song should get more credit and it's just so damn catchy!
