I first saw Girlyman in October 2005 as they opened for Dar Williams in Chicago at the Vic Theatre. They opened their set with an AMAZING cover of Paul Simon's "Born at the Right Time" which featured the best harmonies I would hear all night. I only wish that song was available "somewhere". They have a wonderful sound that is just up my alley and I instantly fell in love with songs like "Kittery Tide", "Speechless", "On the Air", and "Superior". They blend wonderfully (one guy, two women) and have a usually upbeat sound that just flows. Try one of those four songs and I hope (and suspect) you won't be disappointed...I will see them again in a heartbeat. And I have a real soft spot for Doris... she's a musical sweetie.
