I thought i'd give this a second shot , to play with the new toy - i was working duty today and it was very busy and i had to do legal work. I then came home stressed and wrote this in just a couple of hours - its funny how you can sometimes do that.

i thought i would join the mog o sphere in publishing old material of little consequence. I found a gadget called babelizer on the web a while ago which takes your text and scrambes it into loads of languages and back again , so i took the text of the bible about the tower of babel and babelized it. the result was "through the crosspieces of the switches of the emergency comes a way in all the directions" and this song emerged one lonely Sunday - i later decided it was rubbish and axed it.

Well happy new year to the mog o sphere. I had a small party last night and brought in the new year , after nine bottles of bud , in bed. there was a smorgasboard of parties last night so not many people could make it , but what the hell the booze will last for another day. I've been watching time team this morning. they found a stamp thingy with a picture of an arrow through a barrel on it - got me thinking of excalibur , the sword in the stone and other such stuff. We were having a bit banter the other day at work about polymaths such as da vinci and roger bacon , together with secret histories about galileo and that. though roger bacon is seen as the first scientist - he really i thought would rather be the first scientologist given how wrapped the world was in religion then. some scientific thought stemmed from the philosophers - philosophic discussion of atomes by the greeks resurfaced in poetry by margaret cavendish , the duchess of newcastle , which virginia woolf described as being awful. :-)

Theres a lot of talk in some speheres of metanarratives - the cold war being one of the most real and frightening ones ,but not much said about micro narratives - snippets of emerging themes that dance in the wind , occasionally form a gust or a stream.

I wrote a song about it a while ago - perhaps something minor will change in your environment - some pennys will go missing , something will not be where you thought it was , meanwhile you hear "you wont find it" subliminally. or maybe not. Recently at work i found a bit of paper with the words 'click to the rhythm' scrawled on it next to a stapler that had gone missing two years previous. This is something I do at home sometimes 'clicking to the rhythm' as a coping strategy to tune into the normative ether. Today I found an 'out of authroity' assessment nestling in a redundant folder - this was something I wrote in 2002 when I had started work. Everyday at 14:00 my pc clock goes forward an hour - it is synchronised to the atomic clock apparently. aye the same thing happened to dickie. If music be the food of love , play on.

Aye 'smoking crack with the scorfields in the shipyards' as they say though really Dream Rocks Fli is just an absurd anagram of my name. Thanks for the comment (and advice) , i had a quick listen to your sad xmas songs and was touched. i myself decided to cover merry xmas everybody on the 22nd after failing to grapple the wizzard song - really just for the opportunity to scream 'its xmas' until I thought I might be frightening my elderly neighbour. and so back to waiting for the moglet thing to do something interesting or unusual.

ive been trying to write some new stuff over the last couple of days but have expereinced especially bad karma trying to pen a song called ezekiels whale based on youngs literal translation of the prophet ezekiel from the old testament. ho hum. so its back to covers for a while until the creative muses return.
