WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

Foreigner

Posted about 1 month ago

Foreigner's self-titled debut was issued in 1977 and here is my story of how I came to own it. I happened to go to a local record store where they had a new release bin. Every time I'd go in I'd start there to see what I might find. That day as I browsed I came across Foreigner, it's cover caught my eye so I picked it up for further inspection. They had the band members names and instruments listed on the back cover. I noticed a name that I had heard of Ian McDonald but for some reason I couldn't place where I knew him from so I placed the LP back in the bin. After returning home later I searched my collection to find where I knew Ian McDonald from. Ah! King Crimson. So on the strength of Ian McDonald being in the band I went back soon after to that record store and bought Foreigner without ever hearing a single note of any song.

So here are a few of my favorites from their debut album. These are not the most popular or even single releases just my personal favorites.

Jeez, I wonder how many awesome musicians were once in King Crimson, however briefly!
