While the album ("Standing in the Way of Control") has been out since 2006, I've only just discovered it. And I'm happy. Singer Beth Ditto's smooth voice (though she can rock) combined with the band's awesome instrumentals (provided by drummer Hannah Billie and guitarist Bruce Paine) are a perfect mix that doesn't dare leave the listener disappointed.

my wife bought this album several months ago and it is well worth the listen.

My only problem with it is her vocal sounds like the UK novelty act "little Chris" and I find it difficult to get over that.

Alright, so maybe a tad on the vulgar side for a Sunday morning (but that's why i love mog!) :P

I've re-discovered Radiohead, and I'm soooo loving them. Even 'Fitter Happier', which used to really creep me out, until i read the the words. Now it's not so bad...

The whole album us great (OK Computer), and so are their others (Kid A, Pablo Honey, etc). For more Radiohead stuff, go here.

This track is the intro to "Meeting People is Easy." You should check it out if you just re-discovered them. Directed by Grant Gee. Any Radiohead fan has it in their collection.

I know I'm not the first, and I surely won't be the last... Is there one song that just gets you like no other? The saddest, most depressing song that just 'says it all, so that you (thank G-d) don't have to?'

This weekend, I have my i-tunes on shuffle while I write papers...what's ALL I'm doing ALL WEEKEND LONG.

And I start bawling like a baby out of no where...

Garfinkel's "Conditions For Successful Degradation Ceremonies" (topic of the paper 'du jour') is no reason to shed tears...

But Eddie V's voice and the lyrics of that song do it to me like to other can...

WHAT SONG PULLS AT YOUR HEART STRINGS????

Honestly? "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds, and "Dreaming With a Broken Heart" by John Mayer. Pretty clean cut, but they just remind me of someone i lost.
