WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

not really moggin'

Posted over 2 years ago
So my computer sorta started lagging & one of the things that seemed to be sucking huge processor power was the mog app, so I had to kill it. Therefore, I won't be reporting any new 'listened to' tracks, but will try to come back here every once & awhile and talk about music & stuff. 2006 kicked ass for music. I am a tad lazy about making lists (or I should say actually typing/writing out the many lists I formulate in my head all year long), but I will say that undoubtedly my top 3 favorite songs of this year were: Hospitalbeds by Cold War KidsScience is Golden by The GratesNapoleon Says by PheonixSolely graded by the fact that all 3 of those songs, at one point, were songs that I could not help listening to over & over & over & over & over again. :) *sigh* now that is LOVE people! :pAnd, although I saw a TON of incredible shows this year (my friend Ali actually listed them all out & I was right next to her for at least 90% of these), I'd say the most incredible ones that come to mind were: - Wolf Parade at the Independent 1/06 (and also at Coachella - love them!)- Band of Horses - again, both times I saw them - at the Independent & at the Fillmore... I LOVE them!!!- CSS - both opening for Ladytron & then again at Mezzanine- Pheonix at SlimsOK, that's about all I can commit to for the time being.... but be sure to check out my friend's lists! They're better at making the list thing happen & our tastes are very similar! :) - Ted of BagelRadio's Best of 2006- Misty's Best of 2006! - Ali's list of favsLastly, remember I'm always blogging at willotoons.com and posting photos on flickr!Happy New Year everyone! xo

  1. david hyman says mog doesn't really take up ANY processing power outside of the initial index. and it always takes lowest priority. strange. you on mac or pc?

  3. Matt Mills says i was at the Band of Horses show at the Fillmore! Good times. I saw Joanna Newsom on the Monday night...Good show! Noah Georgeson opened. Doing 'folk friday' at the Gray Area Gallery in February, you and friends gotta come check it out. The new mog update is BS imo, it has been taking up processor speed all night. It crashed me once already, i'm at like 80% right now.

  4. willotoons says nice! we were at the wed. show... very beautiful. I actually will do a post with a photo. Matt, you on SL yet? If so, you should add that event. Sucks that you're feeling the processor suck, too. I guess I could try running the new one overnight at some point. p.s. back to David, I'm on a mac. Actually an older Powerbook G4, but hope to nab me a new MacBook soon, and will most definitely hammer it with the Mogg app then. Deal? ;)

  5. Matt Mills says I'm on a dual-core Macbook Pro with a gig of ram and it's still having problems. Maybe if I shutdown Photoshop & Aperture it'll work better next time. It crashed on me again lastnight shortly after that post. not on SL, what's that?
