I don't know if it's because I listen to my music incessently or maybe I'm growing more diverse in taste...and I have a feeling it's been influenced by my pop-culture generation.But, I've been listening to/ downloading more Rap music lately than I ever have before. I've always liked rap, but considered the "rock" music I listen to regularly to be on a higher level of musical accomplishment. However, it's hit me these past two weeks that Rap music should be celebrated and enjoyed for it's musical quality, not just it's pop-culture trends. Rap and Rock are now incomparible to me. It's not that "Rock" is better than "rap" or vice versa...they're 2 totally different, yet equally talented (in my opinion) ways of composing music and expressing emotion through the lyrics. So thumbs up to any decent form of musical expression. And it's good to hear a change of pace on the ole' i-pod.
