MOG MOG

BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

I made it from Santa Monica to Hollywood in 25 minutes on an empty stomach to catch Irving play a short, but sweet set. Penny sent over an advance of the album some time ago and I was totally crushing on their Beach Boys-ey melodies. I didn't care what they were singing about. I wanted into the Fonda Theatre just as they were playing their first song. After a little amp trouble and a cover of "Be My Baby," the show went on. I wasn't a fan of their earlier albums and the songs they played from them didn't impress me the way songs from "Death in the Garden, Blood on the Flowers"did. Highlights included "I'll Write The Song You Sing For Me," "She's Not Shy" and "Care Don't Care."
