WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Say my name, say my name

Posted over 3 years ago

So I was singing Emily Kane in my head this morning while brushing my teeth and I thought, Man, it must be cool to be THE Emily Kane. Even further, just to be named Emily Kane in general. No song has ever had William Harle, or any variation of that, from what I know. But I know that cannot be the case for everyone's name. Some of you are cool or lucky enough to be blessed with music inclusion.

So here's your chance to brag about your song. Has your full name been used in a song? Was the song actually made about you, or did you just get lucky like John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt? And what are your feelings about the song in question? Proud? Embarrassed? Angry? Give me a good list of your songs to listen to.

  2. ChiaraSera says As you know Bill, my last name is rather rare and awkward, at least in the states...but my first name is fairly common, most notably in Tell Laura I Love Her... on a curious side note; did any of the numerous songs you've composed for me have my name in them? (that was for calling me a fascist)

  3. wharle says r.Fedge - thank you for giving the preschool teachers something to tranquilize us with before nap time r.ChiaraSera - my underground hit, "The Fascist Truffle Shuffle" used your full name quite often, and seemed to do very well in the hip hop clubs. You can catch it on my upcoming release, "Fascist Classics: Songs Good Enough for the Mindless Masses" It'll make a great stocking stuffer. :)

  5. ChiaraSera says OH! it's bad enough that you think of me as a truffle, now you're telling the world that I'm a fascist too?! Not very nice. I'd never immoralize my opinions of you through song, at least not in mediocre hip hop. ;)

  10. Anonymous says Yes I have, ChiaraSera. Everyone has, But not all of them catch my eye as funny-given-their-context. Even so, I am indeed sorry that my silly remarks came off as mean-spirited, and I am sorry if I offended you. It was not my intention to do so, friend.
