Yesterday it was 55 degrees and relatively dry. Snuck out of work early and went for, what I assumed, would be the last motorcycle ride of the year.
Lunch and 20 kicks(tarts) later I am off. It was overcast but the weather was perfect. Engine running smooth because of the slight chill. I was bundled up, but not enough to hinder movement.
Couple hours around. I go back to meet up with a friend. He was running late, as usual. I sit around the garage for about an hour. We get ready. He has a little hickup with his bike, quickly fixed. I go to do my 20 kick startup. I need to put a battery charger on. Starts up great. Then........SMOKE.
White, big, beautifully scary smoke. Open the seat, a couple of blows and it is out. Nothing major. One of the 30+ year old wires went bad. No t a huge deal but man it was scary.
So it could be 70 degrees tomorrow. BUT I had the last ride of the season. Something else I gotta fix over the winter. Shangri-la. It was fun.
Well to make things cheery I figured we could all laugh at winter with Lewis Black. I don't hate winters much as him but it is funny.
