The Grande Finale
All good things must come to an end. Second night. Pandemonium. This is the first tour I saw them on. Minus Big Paul.. So I guess I should have worn the tour t then. But eh. Hindsight is 20/20.
Anyway. First night was exhilarating. Exhausting.
Second night. Not as many people but still a proper turnout. I honestly think that the economy is showing its effect. I have noticed this with quite a few shows this year. Less people then expected.
Anyway.
The sound was a 100 times better tonight. The pulsing, angelic fury. Unstoppable. Uncontrollable.
I am so glad and grateful that I came. Everything has been such a bullshit storm of stress. At very least I heard Money is Not Our God. And that alone made perfect sense.
We’ll see where I end up. But I do know this. I thank the Gathering. (of course) Killing Joke, my mum and dad, but more importantly the BIG apple of my life Meghann.
There will be a follow up and then back to business.
But thank you and good night.
Good night

HOLY HOLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYY FUCKING SHIT BATMAN/JESUS?GOD?ALLAH?WHATEVER YOU WANT TO PRAISE!
We had to take a 6:30 AM flight into NYC for several reasons.
1. We are both pretty broke right now and we need to work as much as possible.
2. The better/smarter half is going for her masters degree. And d-day is just around the corner.
3. We flew in real early so we can visit with my mother.
So what that means is we were REAL busy the night before. Got real drunk. Got up real early. Got jammed onto a Spirit jet. Felt like I was having a brain aneurysm form the pressure (it was scary for a second and I am fearless when it comes to flying). Got off the plane. Went all over the city with my mum and step-dad.
7PM meet up with the gathering (look at the previous post, pics to come).
AND LOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKK who we ran into at the watering hole

ha ha. The pic sucks. Jaz was lookign good and not drinking wine. In his biting mood. He was more interested in the t-shirt I made/pleaded for my "wife" (everyone assume we are married) to wear. More on that shirt in a later post.
Crappy craptacular. The t-shirt is not Killing Joke per se BUT I get away without wearing a specific band shirt. For the first night.
It was so fucking good. More later.

Today's shirt doesn't have much behind it. Well....
This shirt was originally spotted by one Big Paul Fergusson. And everyone on the Gathering.....wait I didn't tell you about the Gathering? You don't know?
The Gathering (not the excellent song from Fire Dances, but no coincidence) is a email lost about everything and anything Killing Joke. It has been going since the mid 90's. I joined in 98...I think. It is useful, annoying, tedious and exhausting all at the same time. Of course it is impossible to keep everything on topic so people from all over the globe (really) discuss, compliment and berate each other on Killing Joke, politics, best guitar player, etc. BUT it is EXTREMELY helpful. Not only with Killing Joke but with other bands and types of music. I cannot tell you how many times I found out about a obscure release that I normally would not have heard of. And we meet up. This current trip to NYC there will be Gatherers from all over the States plus Mexico, Japan and who knows where else. In a very geeky way I enjoy it. It has become a bit of a distant family without the guilt or gifts. I don't even try to defend it.
So anyway. This shirt was seen on Big Paul. Everyone was salivating over it. Mike Coles of Malicious Damage heard the request and printed some up. By this point Mike was really a key force in keeping the name out there by reviving Malicious Damage and showing ultimate appreciation for the band, and more importantly, the fans.
With that Mike I salute you and raise my glass.
I wear this shirt quite a bit and people ask if I was at the show. NO!!! I wish. I would have been 8. Which, for me, going to a show at that age wasn't the issue (check this post to see where it all started) but going to NYC wouldn't happen for another 11 years...or so.
The tensions builds
Day 7....AAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
