I was recently reading a review in Amazon.com for "Born to Run" by M J Heilbron Jr., which I loved where he wrote, "From Roy Bittan's piano opening "Thunder Road" to Springsteen's anguished howl ending "Jungleland", you will have gone somewhere. Bruce and the band takes you on a journey...GOD I'm jealous that some of you haven't heard this yet! I'd like to watch someone listen to it for the first time..."
Lately I've become a little bored with the music scene, and it rekindled what I love about music, that sense of discovery and wonder when you hear something that just blows you away for the first time, and you know that in some small way, your world just changed. I'd love to hear other's share their thoughts about the music they wish they'd never heard before, so they could hear it again for the first time..
My list (in no particular order):
Thunder Road, Bruce Springsteen Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters, Elton John The Way I Am, Eminem Can't Buy Me Love, The Beatles My Generation, The Who The Boxer, Simon and Garfunkle Daughter, Pearl Jam Give It Away, Red Hot Chili Peppers Night Moves, Bob Seger Tangerine, Led Zeppelin Sloop John B, Beach Boys
