Great stuff. I have to wonder how NRBQ produced their album covers. Did one of them have a six-year old girl with a box of Crayolas and safety scissors? So many are simplistic to the extreme.
waydutch ... Sorry I missed this when you posted it, and just stumbled upon it today. Always loved their treatment on this great song ... with the 'Whole Wheat Horns' ... and Tommy's drumming is just fucking brilliant on this one ... Big Al's vocals ... man just everything is cool.
Big Thumb's Up.
dermahrk ... NRBQ's album covers and artwork are an additional part of their brilliance ... and I think a very deliberate statement on 'outsider art', kitschy eclecticism, weird simplicity as an aesthetic, and form following function ... and considering the years when they were published, way ahead of their time.
I love the cutout text characters they use on their album covers ... like a kidnapper's ransom note.
