Another MOG Discovery for me Sugar Blue - first heard him on this (self?) post http://mog.com/SUGAR_BLUE/blog_post/160864 . Fantastic harmonic playing and great up-tempo "blues". Track posted here is a cover of Dixon's Little Red Rooster, kind of laid-back but, builds into a great groove and some blazing harp work. It's the ending track of his In Your Eyes release.
Then video just found of him doing Hoochie Coochie Man. Both are a bit long, but hey not much going on on the MOG today so you got time to get familiar with some fine Sugar Blue.

Just brilliant. I love his flow as it were. I know it'll sound cliché but Sugar Blue really make his harmonica sing. Thanks for sharing, WD.
Nice one. I love Sugar.A buddy of mine works at Aligator Records and I got to see him up close a couple of times..Master Harpist and Showman. Serious rockin' Blues. I dunno if it says it on his page, but its his harp on the Stones ,Miss You.
It does say just that and more, so much for my history lesson.
Just finished watching live Bonneroo on the internet. this is perfect follow up, and love love love Sugar Blue! Nice video find, too!
That's some serious harp-fuzz Dutch. THis guy wails! Thanks for peeling my ears.
Brilliant!
