MOG MOG

BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

Artist:
Track: Prefectly Good Guitar
(38)
Tonight's entry in my ongoing quest to increase the MOG's exposure to John Hiatt's excellent is "Perfectly Good Guitar”, from the 1993 album by the same title. This cut is a great bit of hard rocking social commentary with a catchy chorus to boot. . .

Here's another cut that I've always really liked from this same album though it never got much metion or attention. Quite bluesy sounding for John - "Old Habits are Hard to Break" . ~KnpiTr63Qkd.mp3~ .

I am counting on you to post TON of John Hiatt stuff - DON"T HOLD BACK! Loved these tunes, hadn't heard the Perfectly Good Guitar before...I liked the part about his mother buying him his first (cheap) guitar...mine was a Stella (I think Sears made them!) and the strings were about an inch off the fretboard, but I played that darn thing til my fingers bled.

Sweet! I love this album! And I never hear anyone talk about John Hiatt, so it's awesome to see that you even mentioned this.

Roger on the lyrics -- the guy is a master.

Two favorite lines of mine from a song off this same record called "Buffalo River Home":

Now there's only two things in life

But I forget what they are

It works better in context, of course, but still that's killer stuff. To me.
