WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

Webb Wilder - Human Cannonball

Posted over 2 years ago
Webb Wilder - another musician I was just getting to know in the late 80's, before I lost touch with staying up on music much for some 15-plus years. .Seems he's stayed pretty busy in the meantime looking at these web-sites, even been making movies..- his myspace page which includes several free full listens, a ton of songs to buy, and a lot of cool info.http://www.myspace.com/webbwildernow.- and this "official web page, also packed with infohttp://www.webbwilder.com/index.php?goto=the_man..This first video is really a trailer (ad) disguised as a documentary piece, but gives a good feel for WW. OK – enough preliminaries, the song that caught my ear and made me a Webb Wilder fan is this from his second album "Hybrid Vigor". Fun, clever lyrics with a hard driving twanging groove ..This is another one of those albums that I played to death. The entire album rocks. . .(Found a CD copy of it a few years ago at a college record station sale for a quarter (Oh - if only I had more of idea of what was worth buying that day! As it was, I got this and at least a half-dozen other treasures that day, and still have a mystery shelf of CD’s to listen to, all for like $25.00 bucks – but then that’s another post another day maybe)) To finish this out here’s a video using Webb's song "Tough It Out", the only song he’s ever had hit the charts, as the music for a slideshow, the slideshow doesn't apply (except as the song was a fitting choice) but it's a chance to cram another great Webb song into this post. I can't call this a gap filler as scotfree has already done a couple Webb posts but hope you enjoyed...

  1. disneyr says I really like it! I am not a big traditional country fan but Webb reminds me of the Reverend Horton Heat with a better PR firm.

  2. Iren says I dig Webb... listened to him last month during the driving part of my move.. I like the fact that he isn't afraid to throw some rock and roll into his set list, his covers of In my minds eye and Baby Please Don't Go being faves of mine...
