Te-Ni-Nee-Ni-Nu
.
Here's another one from Southern Culture on the Skids latest album, Countrypolitan Favorites. This album is 15 cover songs, so, guess I could keep this up for the next 13 weeks - jk.
.
.
Originally written and recorded by Slim Harpo (born James Isaac Moore) in, best I can figure, 1968, less that two years before he died at 31 from a heart attack. I've never heard the original, but would love to! It has since been cover by several others before SCOTS, including - Deadman you'll like this - Lee Atwater.
.
So, here's SCOTS version, Rick doing funky to extreme blues and some extented guitar jamming. This version morphs through the song while maintaining the groove... Enjoy!
.
. last reminder Philly moggers SCOTS will be there this coming weekend at World Café Live - 9/23 and in Pittsburg on 9/22 at Rex Theater. checkout their fun website SCOTS.com for tour schedule.

This is remarkably similiar to Alex Chilton's version.

O - that is particularly nice! Great guitar munchies indeed (and I love the reverb tones). That and I'm very partial to 59-DC Danelectros. :-) Thanks for the post!

Wonderfully groove-laced lil' gem. Add my vote to the 'keep those posts' coming crowd. Cheers!
