WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

A Song That Fit Like a Glove

Posted over 2 years ago
The Pursuit of Happiness.I’m An Adult Now.Released in 88 on the bands debut album, Love Junk (produced by Todd Rundgren), this song was timed about perfectly for my belated realizations… This whole album is great… must have played it a thousand times, couldn’t get enough of it. …and could always count on it to rock any gathering. ..I knew they were young, raw and Canadian. Never knew much more than that . I never got their second album (did hear a friends copy a few times), and then that’s about when I lost touch with keeping up on music much for some 15 odd years… Wikipedia has a decent write up here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pursuit_of_Happiness Looks like they released at least four more records over the next 6 years or so after Love Junk, but none have had near the acclaim or success Love Junk did. Whatever….“Love Junk” is definately one of my favorite albums of all time. And “I’m an Adult Now” is a song of milestone propotions for a time in my life… So, here it is for your listening pleasure…...Now, a couple of videos of other songs from Love Junk, just to prove this album rocked..Hard to Laugh..She’s So Young...and then to finish this off, a video for a song from their third or fourth album that Wikipedia claims was featured on a Simpson’s episode.(?) I must admit I wasn’t familiar with it until finding it on youtube recently – this too is quality stuff….Cigarette Dangles..Hope I filled this gap adequately and if you didn’t know who they were before, you’ve got a feel for them now.

  2. scotfree says Great one Waydutch! That's one of those tunes that I heard a lot for a year or so, then they dropped o the radar. Did not know this was Todd-prod, and that makes it well worth a look/listen. Thanks man!!

  3. disneyr says Great stuff! On the I'm An Adult Now track I can't help thinking that the lead singer sounds like Weird Al Yankovich if Weird Al sang a serious song. I like it and will listen to Love Junk more again! Thanks Waydutch!

  4. dermahrk says I discovered TPOH from this track, which appeared on a Todd Rundgren compilation CD of artists he produced. I also fell in love with it and bought all of their subsequent releases. All have some really strong songs. The leader, Moe Berg, released one solo CD after the band ceased and now is a writer.

  5. dermahrk says Even though I own all of their material, I've never seen them on video, so extra thanks. Must admit they hit my buttons when they get a bit poppier, like "She's So Young". Smart idea of Moe's to add a couple of girl singers to smooth out the vocal presentation...
