Are you familiar with Dave Edmunds and Rockpile? Most of the Lowe / Edmunds records released in the 80s were Rockpile (the two of them, Billy Bremner and a drummer whose name has left my aging memory). And, of course, Nick, John Hiatt and a couple others did release that one kinda-spotty CD as Little Village. Since you're also a John Hiatt fan, you probably know that. I'm a big Edmunds fan as well. His production skills really enabled the Fabulous Thunderbirds and The Stray Cats take off commercially in the 1980s. And he can play a bit of guitar ;)
