Here's what I want to do. I want to pick the collective minds of those on MOG by asking simple questions about musical taste that you and you only embody. Taking my cue from the Bernard Privot "10 Questions" (all my respect to my friend Aydin's facebook) and an old EDSBS feature, I'm going to ask a few questions. I want to see as many people as possible answer. If you want to devote a whole post to your answers, please link them in the comments. I want to cull the best responses and show them on a post. I'll answer mine in another post.
=================== The Great MOG Survey

2. Muse - Black Holes & Revelations
3. Interpol - Our Love To Admire, Editors - An End Has A Start
4. Muse, Nine Inch Nails, Amy Winehouse (under the condition that she won't get too drunk).

7. Rolling Fossils erm, Stones
8. Editors, Arctic Monkeys, Detroit Cobras, Amy Winehouse, Scissor Sisters, Eagles Of Death Metal, Interpol.

My Trusted MOGs
1. What is the one album you can listen to from start to finish?
+ I'd love to say Tori Amos "Little Earthquakes" but occasionally I have to skip 'China'...so...hm...In all honesty if I'm in the mood Coheed and Cambria's In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth--it's really like a story and whilst reading or driving I can dive right on it and get lost.
2.What is the best album you have purchased in the last six months?
+ oh goodness...since December? I'm really into Charlie Parker right now so I can't answer honestly...Maria Taylor was certainly a good buy. and honestly...I'm adoring the Grey's Anatomy Soundtrack. Especially Gomez's song on it. Oooh and the Thomas Crown Affair's ST. Black & White X 5 is perfection...I wish I had more piano choir music...fer real. Brand New's new one was good too. Like four of those songs (Jesus Christ, Sowing Season, Degausser and Millstone) are just beautifully written. OH!! Regina Spektor!! 11:11 and soviet kitsch.
3.What album are you looking forward to in the next six months?
+ what's coming out? i never pay attention and pick up on music way too late.
4. You have been put in charge of a concert. You are to have three top-billers, of any genre you choose. Who do you get to play?
+ easy: Cursive. Prince. andddddd Pinback? Goodness why not like 10 bands. this sure is tough.
5.If you could have any band that is not currently reunite, reunite who would it be? All band members must be alive.
+ fuck. I wanted Nirvana. but I'll go with RATM but I guess they're already reunitedish. How about APC they're "not broken up" but we all know they sorta are.
6. If you could be one musician for a day, who would it be? Again, the artist needs to be alive.
+ Tom Morello. no questions asked. may I PLEASE rock that hard? i love tim kasher, but tom is just iconic.
7.What band or artist do you wish would quit the music business altogether?
+ Britney Spears. she's just doing terrible things to herself and I wish she'd take her cash and go somewhere quiet to get some peace of mind and clarity. plus she's really projecting an awful image to young people who worship her. it'd do everyone a bit of good and musically she wouldnt be missed.
8. What are you currently listening to?
+ Pinback's Penelope: my theme song.
9. What is the most embarrassing musical purchase you have ever made for yourself?
+ my first: Vitamin C. wait that actually has some decent shit on it :). no...maybe...Limp Bizkit? I have a ton of guilty pleasures that I get very embarassed when people browse my iPod for that I can't let go of. Nickelback. 3 doors downs. tons of my old emo-y stuff, y'know. plus Eminem. he;s so chauvinistic but I absolutely adore him. 10. What musical purchase are you most proud of?
+ cursive. without a doubt. buying all there music was actually lifechanging. they are the one band i never regret buying products, music and tickets for. they really just fit me so well.

My Trusted MOGs
1) One album I can listen to from start to finish?: Funny thing is I can't listen to anything start to finish anymore without hitting the skip button. I used to listed to Space Wrangler by Widespread Panic, beginning to end, at least once a week. 2) Best album I’ve purchased in the last six months: Music subscription = not more albums purchased. 3) Album I’m looking forward to: Haven't a clue 4) 3 top billers for my concert: James Brown (circa 1970), The Meters (1975), Grateful Dead (also 1970) 5) Band that I’d have reunite: The Police 6) If I could be one musician for a day: Ali Farka Toure - his ability with a guitar is transcendent. That must be a nice feeling. 7) Artist I wish would just quit!: Britney and her ilk 8) Currently listening to: The Grateful Dead, Live at Pirates World on 1970-03-24 9) Most embarrassing musical purchase: Huey Lewis & The News - Sports 10) Purchase I’m most proud of: Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark - Organisation. I bought this album when I was 11 and still enjoy it. (P.S. their early stuff is much better than the later, Pretty In Pink, era schmaltz)
My Trusted MOGs
1. What is the one album you can listen to from start to finish?
Broken Social Scene, You Forgot It In People
2.What is the best album you have purchased in the last six months?
If we're talking real-life, I bought an actual tangible CD from someone purchase: Shearwater, Palo Santo If we're talking online album purchases: Lifter Puller, Fiestas + Fiascos
3.What album are you looking forward to in the next six months?
Okkervil River's new CD, Stage Names
4. You have been put in charge of a concert. You are to have three top-billers, of any genre you choose. Who do you get to play?
Man, this one is KILLER HARD. If we're talking bands together (and playing) today: Okkervil River, The Hold Steady, and The Police (yes, I am aware that two of these bands are playing at Bonnaroo. Despite the fact that last year's Bonnaroo was four of the best days of my life, I have been prevented from going this year by work obligations. siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh)
5.If you could have any band that is not currently reunite, reunite who would it be? All band members must be alive.
THE DISMEMBERMENT PLAN, Whiskeytown, Roxy Music
6. If you could be one musician for a day, who would it be? Again, the artist needs to be alive.
Uh ... Cat Power? Never thought much about this one. Or maybe Regine Chassagne from Arcade Fire because she plays some mean drums and seems to be having the time of her life right now...
7. What band or artist do you wish would quit the music business altogether?
It's a tie! Scott Stapp/Creed and/or John Mayer. Sorry, I know Mayer's got mad guitar chops or whatever, but his songs are like the devil's own sputum.
8. What are you currently listening to?
Bill Evans, At the Village Vanguard
9. What is the most embarrassing musical purchase you have ever made for yourself?
What's embarassing, really? I bought ABBA Gold on vinyl for $0.25 at my favorite local indie record store (52.5 Records) and got a snicker...does that count?
10. What musical purchase are you most proud of?
Hm...I don't think I've ever been "proud" to buy certain music. I guess anything that was for a good cause? Maybe I would say my original pressing (hand-drawn artwork!) of Andrew Bird's Music of Hair. I was on that train WAY early.
