Destination Out! has a great piece written by Ethan Iverson and a coupla tracks from Crisis. What a great man and important composer/musician. Mad props. Anyone else catch him on the Grammy's? Beautiful, sirs and ma'ams, beautiful. Do The Math has a nice tribute, including "Tentacle Monroe," a poem comprised solely of anagrams of "Ornette Coleman." First verse: "Core tone, lament... Alert! Neon comet... Once more, talent."

Ornette was a mad-man. I remember Miles Davis taking shots at him in his bio. saying he didn't respect the music or some such thing. Miles was often pissed, BUT Ornette he was just weird.
