MOG

Saw this over the weekend. Been playing catchup in the sphere. I work in regional theatre and we've been loading in and rehearsing, which leaves way too little time to read everything. Thank you MOG for archiving and allowing (relatively) easy passage around the collections and minds of all herein. Of course, there's nothing like youtube at 56.6:) Anyway, haven't had time to check it all out, but DAMN! If you dig free jazz, this'll at least let you know you are not alone, or for those who only know the name ornette coleman, you really should check this out. For the newbie, it'll at least point you in a few directions, should you want to expand your ear.

Topic: MP3s Finally, the world has a free-jazz mp3blog! Seriously! It's called Destination: Out (http://destination-out.com/ ) and it posts out-of-print music with informed, passionate writing alongside. This, and to a lesser extent Classical Connection (a [mostly avant-garde] classical mp3blog http://www.classicalconnection.blogspot.com/), is exactly what I hoped for when mp3blogs began to boom. People writing with excitement and verve about music I do not know and do not even entirely know how to love. And with samples alongside to help you listen for yourself! Bliss! What first brought met to Destination:Out was a coup de grace in their Ornette Coleman Week: an "exclusive" bootleg of the Ornette Coleman Quartet playing at Carnegie Hall in June(http://destination-out.com/?p=17).
