I give this a big thumbs up. Bon Iver's story is amazing, but aside from that, his entire album is absolutely solid. It will be playing for years and years... probably stuff that I will be playing as my kids grow up (I don't have kids).
I was fortunate enough to have seen Bon Iver at the Independent in San Francisco. Unfortunately, the crowd cleared out after him and the headliners that night (who had been switching off headlining with Bon iver) just had a bored, chatty crowd who had no interest in them. This song was especially transcendent, along with The Wolves (I & II) and Re: Stacks.
When I first heard this song transported me somewhere for a while, and for a moment, I didn't know what I was doing or where I was when I came back. It's the kind of song that can help you forget everything, and send you into a nostalgic dream-state.
Please get this album, please see them live... They are coming back for the SF Outside Lands Festival (Radiohead WOO Wilco WOO Ben Harper WOO Broken Social Scene WOO)
