I have been starting my mornings off this week with a cup of coffee. When I was working for my previous company, that was part of the routine. But ever since I quit that job, the routine didn't include coffee. Well it's back, and I've missed it sooooo much.
I've been particularly impressed with this blend that I got at Trader Joes. It's a dark french roast and I really enjoy my coffee strong.
So MOG, are you drinking coffee? or tea?

Coffee, sweet nectar of the gods. I am a bona fide coffee addict/snob. I have owned about 4 espresso machines and now live with a La Pavoni that I picked up at an estate sale for $25! I love latte's, cappuccino, and coffee. I've been using a little cheapo dip coffee maker for the past couple years, mainly for convenience, but it's starting to fritz out and may return to my preferred method of a French Press.
Yes, I'm a coffee fetishist.

i must admit chinese tea is sooooo good with chinese food...especially if its authentic.
cbw - i love espresso. my friend has this espresso machine that has an eagle or something on top of it. its called an elektra. it makes such good espresso that i cannot make it at home with this free machine i got. i am deathly afraid that i will not be satisfied. btw you got a freaking awesome deal on the la pavoni!

Oh, I know I did. It's got copper heating elements and it is amazing how simply it works. Steam and piston. Turn the knob steam comes out and froths your milk. Lift the handle and it pours how water through the screen. The simplest way is always the best. You can get some decent stove top contraptions that do a similar job.
Yes, Tea can be fantastic with the right meal. I'm very interested in how to properly make a proper British "cuppa" with some PG Tips.

Tea's the first choice for me...after I had to go onto decaf I could never see the point of coffee

has anyone enjoyed cold tea, perhaps late night in china town?

Actually, I used to start the day off at school with hot chocolate. When I was on Holiday in the US I used to start with Chai Tea at Starbucks. Now, I get up at 11:00, shower, check my mail, so when I'm about to start my day I can already make lunch.

I love coffee. I really do, and the stronger, the better. But, I started noticing my brain racheting sideways in time with some phantom drummer after about 10 cups. So after the first two cups in the morning, I've switched to green tea. at times, I get a bit sleepy around 3 p.m.

coffee, coffee, coffee. i'll never understand decaf coffee. recently i read an article that wondered whether coffee ads were becoming too gender-specific.

Only the nescafe ones...
"Drinking this reminds me of our trip to Paris-"
"And our waiter-"
[together] "Henri...(laughter)"
Sadly, that is burned into my head from years ago...

haha, i remember that one!

bbf - i dont understand decaf myself
My Trusted MOGs
I drink coffee, usually Folgers automatic drip. Never touch the stuff at home, though I usually have four or five cups a day at work.
Henri? That's Esperanto for "Jean Luc," right?

Decaf is a crime against humanity.

Joxley: Why did you have to switch to decaf? Adverse interaction effects with your ADD?
Anna: "Good" coffee? I thought Greeks drank frappe, and that's made with instant Nescafe...
A few cups of strong coffee a day for me, with a touch of milk in the morning. I covet a quality espresso maker, but so far I've found better uses for that several hundred dollars. One day soon, though... So for a few years now I've been making do with a French press, making sure that I get quality beans (usually Kenyan AA or Ethiopian Yergacheffe for me) and burr-grind them fresh every morning. I also like green tea and Earl Grey and a few other black teas.

Herbal tea, please! Preferably something Celestial Seasonings and fruit-based, like their Cinnamon Apple Spice. Yum!
OK, usually I start my day with a liter of water, but if those were my only two choices...
