I am lame. I went to LA for the weekend and totally missed out on MOG! I come back to find my inbox filled with unread MOGs. Outrage! I am still combing through all the emails and man it's going to take me a while. I would love to drop a line to everyone on my trusted list, but it's going to be hard. I will honestly try my darndest.
So the first time I heard this band Jejune it was a suggestion from a friend because they covered a Smiths song. Of course I was totally skeptical, but once I heard the rendition, I was hooked on the band. It is so sad that I discovered them a little too late as they broke up in 2000. Get back to together and please please please let me get what I want...this time.

Lovely song... and it would be wonderful if some other great bands got back together as well!
Here's another cover of that same song:My Trusted MOGs
I prefer the vocals on Jejune's version to the original's (runs as quickly as possible for cover as bricks and bottles rain down).
Please don't get me wrong: I'm a bigger Morrissey fan than I am a Smiths fan (once again runs for cover as he is pelted with rocks and garbage).

It is a good one. I like it! Although, apparently The Smiths had influenced them a lot that; his singing, arrangement..etc are kind of under the influence of Mozza/ The Smiths. Which is understandable of course. Since it's THE SMITHS! Guess, I like when covers are more authentic / different from the original version. (For instance, even though I am a huge Joy Division fan and to me it is almost unacceptable to ruin the originality of their songs, my favorite Love Will Tear Us Apart cover is an absolutely slow acoustic version of the tune by REVERE. It is on my Multiply page. Maybe you have heard before?). Anyway, there is a (sort of a new) band called Delay Room, and I think they are the most Morrissey sounding band I have heard up to date. I love them!! I should put some of their stuff up for you. I wonder what you'd think.
Too much talk! Sorry. But gotta tell HOW I love Buckley's covering this track too. He rules a big time! :-)

Hey walkingthecow...... Have you been keeping up with the latest "Morrissey is a racist" rant? Check out www.morrissey-solo.com. Very interesting. Very interesting indeed. Keep the covers coming.

check out - www.morrissey-solo.com. Apparently the NME conducted an interview with Mozza. The journalist assigned asked some questions about Britain, and then bam...... He's a racist. There is more to this story. The website documents it very well. Kinda interesting.

Gutsy gesture to name your band this. You practically hand your would-be detractors a mallet with which to strike you about the head and shoulders.
