Almost as exciting as the day I met Peter Hook. I have been a Talking Heads fan forever, just like New Order...so it actually started the day before he played a packed house at Wells Fargo Center in Santa Rosa CA. We met up with David's band during the day for a shoot and caught him on his bike ride through the city. Imagine yourself stopped in traffic...and David Byrne passes you by on a bicycle. That would make my day.
The night of the concert was definitely worth the drive up. I was able to shoot the event and enjoy the concert. Wonderful. It was absolutely the best concert so far this year. An after party was set up for a meet and greet. David was there only for a few moments but it was great grabbing him for a few minutes.
Pat, beer, David Byrne. Happy.

I went gallery hopping with him one day. It was pretty cool walking around Chelsea with Mr. Byrne I got so much attention that I never wouldhave gotten if I was by myself.
David has always been a big bicycle guy around NYC. One day his bike was stolen and it made the evening news.

He's a good guy, isn't he? Other than the random backstage stuff, there was a barbecue (totally social) and, a couple years later, a breakfast interview. I found him thoughtful, gentlemanly, and wry.
The best part is he didn't disappoint you. So many of these guys do.
