WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Should I join Facebook...

Posted about 1 year ago

This is a question I have been asking myself for a while now. People are bugging me to join Facebook, but I just can't muster up the strength to join another social network that I will be wasting time on. What am I to do?

I just deleted my friendster account, and now all my friends are migrating.  I guess so, would be my answer.  I just loathe MySpace, maybe the grass is greener...

do it, it will be the only one you'll ever need.  it would stand alone i think if it weren't for myspace's music popularity

Depends... if its the easiest way to keep in touch with people (which it is for me) then yes, if not, there's no real point

Jox - i mean there are people that i would love to reconnect with...but that would last like all of 5 minutes.  i do like some of the apps that facebook has.

Yeah, I use it for mostly for arranging stuff with about 15 friends - its easier (and cheaper) than doing stuff by phone... but then I never contact 95% of the people I have as "friends" on there

its amazing who finds you on facebook. If you're up for that then go for it. I use it for chat and wordscraper(i.e. scrabulous)

just a friendly warning - once you create a profile on Facebook, it can NEVER be deleted.  this could change someday, but that's the way it's been thus far.  something to consider.  i guess you could change everything to misinformation before you leave if you decide to stop using it.  but there's no clean break available.

mollifire - you can request for your account to be deleted, or made inaccessible:

"If you do not think you will use Facebook again and would like your account deleted, we can take care of this for you. Keep in mind that you will not be able to reactivate your account or retrieve any of the content or information you have added. If you would like your account deleted, please contact us using this formand confirm your request."

I've been thinking about doing the same, just to keep track on what my son and his friends do online. That would be my only use for it.

I find this whole thread amusing, and more than a little mystifying.  I do not "get" facebook at all.

Music:  We Choose Faces takes a while to get where it started, huh?

I wouldn't bother with it.  Unless, like Dale you need to keep track of what your young ones are up to, I don't see much point.

i guess they did change their policy on deleting accounts.  though, not being able to delete your own account anytime you want, stills seems dodgy to me.

People find you on Facebook...I don't want people to find me on Facebook! If I wanted to keep in contact with my classmates & other random people, I would have done so.

Nothing there for me. Don't have time to waste and I wouldn't waste it there if I had it anyway.
