Dub Trio kicked off the night doing what they do best...dub. Well, dub mixed in with crazy streaks of hardcore rhythms. I later find out these guys ARE Peeping Tom and that Mike Patton was lurking around somewhere. I saw him backstage but was too frightened to approach him.Helmet, now with it's newest incarnation was tighter than a snare drum. It didn't surprise me to hear all the famous Page Hamilton riffs nailed with this line-up. You can tell these guys are veterans at their craft. It was a good crowd, maybe a little sparse at first but the night turned out awesome. Respectful crowds are appreciated by the band as they told me the gig up in Sacramento the night before was pure mayhem. Barfed on gear proves to be end all for having killer nights. The sound at the Indie is also lights out with a crew that knows their venue.
