brendan bell, singer of the rhode island band that you no doubt won't have heard of but should listen to, gruvis malt, wrote this album over three years. it is written and recorded from a game boy, using a cartridge called nanoloop that taps into its soundchip. the most remarkable thing under all the layers of electronic sound, however, unsurprisingly given his musical background, is the songwriting.
