BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

Album: Girls In The Garage, Vol. 9
Track: Hanky Panky .

Rita Chao of Singapore had success on Asian pop charts during the mid-60's, while The Quests were a Singapore beat group who played on TV and live shows from Hong Kong to Australia.

The Quests' guitar player Reggie is said to have been inspired to reach new levels of virtuosity after sharing the stage at Singapore's National Theatre with The Yardbirds in '67.

The Quests were contracted in 1967 to play on Rita's recording sessions which yielded this crazed cover of "Hanky Panky".

I haven't even begun to scrape the barrel bottoms!

I love it. 60's and 70's Asian performing western music is pretty sweet. I haven't heard of her before. The images are great. I'll have do research. Thanks for the introduction to Rita.

Sweet! I need a compilation or something of hers. Those album covers are gold. It's making me think of a cool "Lady Madonna" cover I got off of Thai Beat A-Go-Go.

That's hilarious. Someone had some free time and a lot of art stored up. It's kind of a history lesson in erotic images. The thai beat series is pretty good. I got one and two. Not sure if there is a 3rd.

Holy shit that's awesome. That vibe and song is killer. I need to explore the GaragePunk Hideout site some more. On a glance I saw some very recognizable and much loved stuff.
