This is the single mix of Roy Loney's composition, "The First One's Free", which isn't stereo but you can hear the guitar a lot better.
Another excellent Sundazed remaster, by Bob Irwin who also worked wonders with the Moby Grape albums.

I'm guessing here, but did Dave Edmunds ever produce the Groovies? I ask because I own a best-of collection and a couple of tracks have that Edmunds-C Berry groove down cold, as does this. Nice.

Yep, Dave Edmunds produced the Flamin Groovies Now lp. Cyril told me Dave said went to an old pub and the bartender complained that all the music of the past 50 years just a bunch of "yeah my baby". Cyril got a laugh, said he's write a tune called "Yeah My Baby"... and forgot about it.
2 weeks later he was playing a riff that interested Edmunds enough to come out of the booth and ask, is that "Yeah My Baby"? Cyril said, yeah, that's it!
