Drugstores used to smell of pulp and eggshell inks from the comic books and greeting cards.
I got one last whiff of the old greeting card aroma 5 years ago at the last Rexall Pharmacy before they tore out the old display cases, even the wood had a certain fragrance, slowly aged since the late '40s or '50s...
then like a fart in the wind, it was gone...
now it's a Reliable Drug Company. Eh... at least not a Walgreen's, still has a slower pace than those chain stores and the pleasant clerks look you in the eye as though your business matters...
I still look at some of the remaining checkered tile and original titles on the cement,(e.g. Miramar Pharmacy where I bought my nickel candy bars, dime sodas and 12 cents comics)
at the entranceways of souless convenience shops...
shiny logos that are the last traces of the fine old neighborhood drugstores that used to be there from say, the 1920s 'til the early '80s...

I can't help it, it sounds like she ends the choruses with: "rocked up, jumped up, cock and roll" ...but that would be inconceivable!

That's exactly what Janis is singin', man! Good spottin'!
My Trusted MOGs
...or maybe it's "tuck & roll"

I Love it! Fank you fank you fank you. Wow, imagine the days when drugstores used to rock? RiteAid, is anybody taking notes here?

You're not far from Rite!
