What's cool for cats, is that a commercial on TV was triggering this tune in my mind's ear the last 2 months.
I couldn't remember who did it or what it was called or any words, just the catchy melody.
And only that TV ad slightly similar to the tune got me humming it, and then I'd forget how it went.
What was I going to do, make a youtube video of me hummong it and call the clip "Does anyone know what song this is?"
But then I deduced that it might be Squeeze, I'd never had there albums but I survived the '80s.
So I trained myself on what could have been the last airing of the trigger commercial - the Manchurian advertisement...
by memorizing the springboard, la la la LA... la la la la LA, la la la la LA!
and without a title, dove into youtube's Squeeze videos and had no luck for the longest 10 minutes...
and then,
"Another Nail In My Heart" - the title alone rang a bell, and Pop - that's the number!
All that remained was to find the best sounding mix on youtube as some were muddy, not really popping out.
OK, here it is without further ado.
You all probably got sick of it long ago, but I'm so glad I unraveled the theme that stuck in my mind, sort of.

SUCH a hummable song. I never knew who sang this either until I saw it on MOG. Makes me think I should consider buying some Squeeze records.
Oh man you are all missing out SO much if you don't listen to more Squeeze.
They have an amazing number of awesome songs....this one is great but there are tons more.
Chris Difford and Glen Tilbrook (the 2 main guys from Squeeze) also have a bunch of great solo stuff.
If you want to start with just one album to dip your toes in, may I suggest "Squeeze Singles---45s and Under"---but that's the just the tip of the truly talented iceberg.
thanks! i think one for now will hold me over well good. yay, i love new old music discoveries.
I think you will not be disappointed...enjoy!!
Thanks for the charmin' comments and suggestions!
Or just get their best CD - "Some Fantastic Place". If THAT doesn't get you off, you're dead!
BTW, glad to see you back on the site. 'Bout TIME!
Great research, dude! I once had a tune stuck in my head, and I knew I had it on tape somewhere...took me six months to find it, and another year to find out the name of it!
