Country with a twist

Posted about 1 year ago
Here's a trad country weeper with a touch of fuzztone, Waylon style. Which makes it borderline - what? From the Bear Family 6-CD "The Journey: Six Strings Away" box set (2002) currently o.p. and selling on amazon for upwards of $200. Ouch!

  2. Abobo Kiddymangle says I don't know what they call the genre (cweez-tone?), but a fine song it is, quite possibly the best Waylon song I have heard that isn't attached to a television show.

  3. dermahrk says A clean-shaven Waylon with a pompadour! Nice pic. I would hope that one of the by-products of music going digital is that mp3s become so ubiquitous that prices of OOP items get driven down, as it's all available digitally.

  4. uncle creepy says Marty Robbins was one of the first C&W cats to use fuzztone, though by accident, according to legend. In this tv app. made some time after, it appears they never let him live it down!
