April March sings this 1964 France Gall hit (written by Serge Gainsbourg) in both English and French on her 1995 album, Paris in April, also on her Chick Habit EP and single. It also appears on the soundtrack of 2 movies, most notably as the credits roll Quentin Tarentino's Death Proof, where both versions (French & English) play back-to-back.I like the Tarentino flick, but it's a long build-up to an intense car-chase and the song(s) adds a much needed release to the crazed ending. If I keep going with details on all the various versions of this song, it'll get even more confusing!

  2. dermahrk says I have a DVD of "Death Proof" from Netflix in my possession at the moment, but haven't seen it yet. Now I will listen for this. She's very striking (no, I don't mean I want her to beat me...I think...)

  4. dermahrk says Is that YouTube video also from this decade? I ask because the guy has a friggin' DESK PHONE, not a mobile (and there isn't even a cord from the base unit to the handset). Whatever decade it's from, it cost about a week's groceries to make. And they saved additional money by hiring the cheapest hair stylist for her. Ok, slams over. She's beautiful and I like the song.

  5. uncle creepy says check out this plexi-phone... it melts in your mind, not in your hand! again, 500 zillion dollars spent on the car phone and a buck fifty on make-over. it manages to mash decades into muck on a whole other level, pronto! Natacha Snitkine - le jeu du téléphone
