WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Pretty, Shiny and New

Posted over 3 years ago
Looks like it's gonna be a kicked back Friday night. I'm glad to see that MOG is back in full force. Just poured a glass of wine and I'm kicking back playing with....MY NEW FREAKING IPOD!!!!Well, not so much playing with it as watching it charge, I think. Is it supposed to blink "Do Not Disconnect" over and over the first time it's plugged in? There's not much help in the "manual" that comes with it. But it's so pretty and shiny and new, and I'm quite smitten. I named it Black Magic cuz, well...it's black and magical. Also jamming to this record by Under the Influence of Giants (thanks, BobAtLarge), and you'd do yourself a favor to check it out.Happy Friday and have a kick-ass weekend everyone!

  2. chucky says Ah. Have fun! Plugged into the computer? Hit the eject button on the screen by "Tybee's ipod." Plugged into the wall? I have no earthly idea.

  3. Viva La Britt says Ah, I'm so happy for you. All those overtime hours have come to fruition! New tech toys make me nervous; they're so pretty I almost hate touch them for the first few days.

  4. tybees says Chucky, I don't think I can plug it into the wall..there's no adapter? I'm clueless, does it charge thru my PC? I need to check out the Apple tutorial but I was so excited that I had to post about it first :) Britt, thank you, and I'm definitely nervous. I'm afraid of scratching the screen just by looking at it. I got all weekend to play though!

  6. tybees says I got the black 30 gig, it's so cool. It's actually a little bit heavier than I thought it'd be, so I definitely need to get a cover for it. When the backlight is off, it's like looking in a mirror. I almost feel, like, complete now :) You need one now Blair!

  9. tybees says Blair, that does look pretty sweet! I know iTunes isn't the greatest, but I've used it for so long that I couldn't imagine switching up to anything else. Thanks Dale! I feel like a kid at Christmas.

  10. Dale says I feel so inferior with my half-a-gig Sony. Thankfully, Blair has apparently made out my Christmas wish list for me. Kids, all I want for Christmas is the Toshiba MP3 player. Hubba hubba

  14. SatisfiedMind614 says Ty...does yours play video? I am just curious as to how well the video player works...
    Permalink posted 11/10/2006
  15. tybees says Yes it does play video, but I can't really do much with it yet as it needs to charge for 24 hours, so I'm not sure how well it works. Arrgghh. But, apparently there's ways of importing videos from YouTube on to it. Oh, the possibilities.

  18. democlez says Congrats on the new player, and in case you haven't found yet, I think it's suppose to get a full charge first before you can do anything with it so the "Do not disconnect" is normal.

  19. chucky says You've got the same one I have then. I bought a sweet little leather case to keep safe and I left the plastic film over the screen. (I beat the hell out of my last one.) Yeah, it charges through the computer. I thought mine came with a wall adapter but maybe I got that separately and forgot.

  20. tybees says Why isn't there a manual that tells you these things. Arrgghh. Well, he's up and running now, my sweet little Black Magic. Thank God I didn't get a 2 or 4 GB nano, I've already uploaded 4 gigs and have more to go. Ashley, I'll definitely need to get a case for it, I can see how easily it could get beat up. And thanks Daniel, I finally figured out that it is supposed to say Do Not Disconnect, after hours of confusion and frustration. I. Am. So. Happy.

  21. El Monko and Son says I am very happy for the two of you. Where are you going for the honeymoon? Also, I have posted a few comments in the last few days that seem not to have stuck, including an expression of frustration over failed attempts to check out your multiply thing. I side effect, I suppose, of the recent re-wiring of the site. Oh well, WSTS!

  22. tybees says We're actually going to be hanging out in my luxurious living room for our honeymoon, and we'll go on some sightseeing tours on my way to and from work every day. We're soooo in love. Oh and I'm not sure the difficulty you're having w/multiply, but I do know that no one can see the music I've uploaded unless he/she is a contact. Did you create an account? Elmo, what the heck is WSTS?
