just when i thought the coachella lineup couldn't pull out anymore surprises after the big rage announcement, this comes up:
the jesus & mary chain are coming back together to play coachella friday night (april 27th), the same night bjork and interpol are playing...
I AM SO STOKED!!!
me being a huge shoegaze fanatic, and them being the gods of shoegaze, this is a dream come true....the only other band that would get me more excited would be if my bloody valentine came back and did a show.
i think it's been a long while since j&mc has played a show and i'm excited to see them for sure.
BUT i'm not excited to hear the rumor of it being about $250 for coachella this year...you see, i'm a college kid.
translation: i have no money.
but i WILL go. i was excited to hear that the arcade fire, bjork, interpol, sonic youth, explosions in the the sky, silversun pickups, the decemberists, peter bjorn & john, lcd soundsystem, jose gonzales, tapes n' tapes, grizzly bear etc etc were playing....and when i heard RAGE was coming back, i jumped up and down for seriously like five minutes celebrating. haha, rage was so freakin amazing, and i LOVED them back when i was in jr high. and as far as i'm concerned, they're the only rap/rock band that will always kick ass.
so i will find a way to raise the money. i've already got a few friends i'm going with (can you say, ROAD TRIP?!), and we plan on being super cheap and staying in tents on the festival grounds with the hippies.....but i didn't realize the tix would be so much money, i know its definitely worth it with the lineup and all, but it still doesn't change the fact that it's $250 i don't have right now.
? for anyone that might be able to answer: i know tickets go on sale this weekend, but i won't be able to get the money that soon. does anyone think the tix will sell out right away? or do i have some time to save up the money?
yeah, it wasn't supposed to be released until march 20...
but it leaked on the internet last night.
i couldn't help but listen to it. it is amazing. and i love it. a lot.
but i can't help but worry that i'll be tired of it by the time it's actually officially released (march 20 is a long time from now, you know?)
but for now, i like.

"And the moment we've all been waiting for: the tracklist for Matador's deluxe two-disc reissue of Pavement's 1995 album Wowee Zowee . And goddamn, did Matador go all-out.
The Sordid Sentinels edition, due out November 7, features a whopping 18 unreleased tracks, including outtakes, live tracks, and radio sessions, as well as a ton of B-sides and random soundtrack and compilation tracks.
Did you know that Pavement was on a Descendents tribute album? Neither did I. "

wow, that IS a lot of money for a lot of really big artists. not to mention all the travelling costs and such. coachella is quite a movement!
well, it looks like I may need to hit up Coachella now that I see this! JAMC, that's fucking huge, you don't know how many times I've wished that I was alive when it was possible to see them, damn, I need to get on those tickets, now!
More... salt... can't... take... the pain...
