I thought SanDisk's slotMusic was totally stupid, but Eliot Van Buskirk changed my mind. Oh Eliot, you always do that!

Here's a song I wrote. I recorded this with my friend Derek who plays bass and sings backup. We just formed a band not too long ago called "Kid Lightning and Thunder Boy." We had our debut show at a recent MOG Musica Tecnomica party. More songs to come...

Here's the insider scoop. According to my sources, the Copyright Royalty Board made an inside deal with Apple. The Royalty Board gave Apple tons of free publicity in exchange for a 23.4% share of the increase in sales from the hype.

that picture, taken as a whole, looks a little bit like an old floppy disk... (not to show my age or anything ;) how funny that it happens to be about a new fangled disk.
I'm still not convinced. Usually when a company introduces a new content distribution method it improves on previous technologies I don't see what a repackaged memory card could possible have over a CD if you want to buy music in a physical form. Ok, it's smaller... but the sound quality is sacrificed. If their target audience is people who want an MP3 player, but aren't technically inclined enough to rip a CD or buy a digital version of their songs then that's a rapidly shrinking demographic.
i just assumed it was a novelty item. like 3-sided records or buddha machines...
