I also know that if an oldies station is on in my presence, I will almost always be able to sing along (or, at least, I know the words - my singing ability is questionable).
I miss having my car. I miss classic rock. college is fantastic, but good radio is nonexistant.

WELCOME TO ADULTHOOD! Maybe try checking out some college radio staions around you. Usually they are pretty good. Isn't it funny to think about what is going to be classified as oldies when we are like 80? Britney spears, The Bravery, Nirvana, Kanye West..........

Commercial radio truly sucks! So, here's a shameless plug. Fridays, 4pm Pacific, 7pm Eastern check out the Hand Picked Radio Hour with Tom Fennell, WMSR Radio. Tom is off this week spending Thankgiving with his family but he'll be bck next week, he plays a lot of blues/bluegrass. WMSR is the college radio station for Miami University - Oxford campus in O-Hi-O. He also takes request, hence, hand picked radio hour and he's quite funny. Enjoy.
If you're not quite into the blues/bluegrass scene here's the station's website, maybe they'll have an hour for the genre you like. WMSR Radio Website.

try streaming radio sites. last.fm has an especially good one. you download a plug-in, play whatever cds you have on your computer (or you can simply tag tracks as "love") and it will make up a whole radio station for you. there's also http://www.radio-indie-pop.com/ and they generally play some kick-ass stuff.
