By the Canadian Idol top 10!!!
Really, I don't think I've ever seen such a poor performance night. One girl did a Pat Benatar version of "Cat People", the boy from Newfoundland did a very campy "Dancing in the Streets", "Let's Spend the Night Together" was a sorry mess and even "Space Oddity" came across as a lame Natalie Merchant imitation.
Unbelievably, no-one touched "Changes", "Heroes", "Golden Years", "Fame" or my very favourite "Life on Mars".
Here's my antidote from the master himself.
The picture was taken during the Idol tryouts on a typically cold and rainy spring day. Hmmm, kind of foretold the season we'd have on Canadian Idol...

Oh yeah, can't resist that one - it should wipe that taste from your pallate. Did you ever see the Brit series "Life On Mars"? Thought they used this to perfect effect, and lots of other good 70's through the whole run.

Of course! I've watched it through twice - and it's still being re-run here. I've got the soundtrack too, lots of great 70s classics. Can't wait for the sequel "Ashes to Ashes" to air.
