most of the time i’m really happy to discover new and amazingly sounding bands, but from time to time i feel downright embarrassed and annoyed that i haven’t heard them before, because, seriously, i don’t discover them, they’re already there, incredible musicians performing incredible songs.. and they’ve been there for a long time, playing and recording and touring and building a fan base and… why did i not know them until now! well, suffices to say i’m annoyed by my own ignorance regarding the indie music scene, and music in general, bet that doesn’t happen to you all - - i felt particularly annoyed last week when i discovered The Subways - damn it! not discovered, just heard them playing for the first time, (on tv, of course, don’t think they’re gonna be comin to paraguay any time soon) nonetheless, they blew me away (is that the correct expression? remember people, i took esl in high school, and i’m a bit rusty) the point is, they’re really good, i mean amazingly sounding really good, and they’ve been playing for years, and until now do i hear them..

they’re from hertfordshire, england, i think, and they released their first album, young for eternity, in the spring of 2005, and form what i’ve read, the band have a pretty uncommon line-up consisting of fiancés playing guitar and bass, and also, despite the different surnames, two brothers, one being the drummer.. they’re kinda like the the von trapp family, only without the nazis and all of that.. anyheew, they’re awesome, don’t you agree?

I couldn't find anything on a new release, but I do like this band. Chalk another one up for hot bass players. Unfortunately, she's married to the lead singer. All that aside, they are a great band and I'm still upset that I spaced Lollapalooza last year and missed them.

Oh, and your English is fine. Proabably better than mine. Keeping up with music is a labor of love. Mog will help.

hi folks!! hope that mogeverything is mogfine in your moguniverse (if they did it with Mc on grey’s anatomy i can certainly do it with mog!)

as i was laying on my bed last night trying to sleep to the song expo '86 and realizing it was soooo good it actually kept me more conscious (transatlanticism by death cab for cutie, doesn’t get much better than that) i came to the conclusion that some superior force had lead me to discover mog.com for a higher porpoise, God maybe? buddha? the irs? not really sure yet, but here you have me, and, if you want to, i want you to know about me, and since you’ll probably find me rather boring, i want you to know about paraguay, the country that has given me everything i’ve ever dreamed of, (except for insane amounts of money, fame and a public library named after me…) anyway.. it’s an amazing country with amazing people and great many other things, like dulce de leche and the-two-kisses-on-the-cheeks tradition every time you meet a girl.. really, how can i possibly describe it? you would have to see for yourselves.. but this ain’t traveler’s digest so i will have to limit myself to promote a rock band which is… yep, you guessed it: Flou!(that’s their logo on top by the way) i have to say: there are other great bands down here, but getting a hold of their cds and eps ain’t no picnic, it’s not like you can download paraguay’s best from the net, but i’m tracking em down so that you can enjoy their songs, cuz they are great

this song is called “delirio” (“delusion” for the spanish impaired), and it’s from their first album “ataraxia”, which i needn’t translate since it’s the same in english..

so… did you like it? hope so…their last concert was great by the way, they underwent some technical difficulties and yet they came off sounding as good live as they do on studio.. in front of 85000 something people right here in asuncion (hey! that’s a huge turn out for a small country like this)

and so i say good bye.. all i’ve left to say is hope you liked the song, and keep on rockin'! or indiein'! depending on your musical preferences, well, just keep on living, but mostly, keep on moggin'!

oh god! i’ve just realised… am i really the only one in the vicinities that’s actually from a place different than.. well.. the us! i mean really, that kinda makes one feel a bit lonely, so please, is there anyone from south america at least! Not that i’m complaining or anything.. people round here have really good ears, some great bands encountered, and most of ‘em also greatly unknown unfortunately (although it’s always really cool to introduce friends to great new sounds they’ve never heard before).. and besides it’s a bit surreal to be mogging along ben gibbard! whom i admire deeply and quite honestly is kinda the only reason i joined this thing in the first place! well, don’t get me wrong, im not obsessed with the guy, i mean, he’s the lead singer of one of my top three bands and every night i go to bed dreaming of meeting him but, just that, the dude is cool and all… well! also, not sure it’s really him, as my mom said it’s probably just his agent or manager setting his blog so that pathetic folk like me think he’s actually real (did i say mom? i meant girlfriend of course...) ok then! don’t forget to test out the band i posted, one of my faves down here in paraguay… don’t be shy, hope you enjoy it until next time.. p-dude out
