The end of an era

As I'm sure most people that love them have heard, Rainer Maria will be parting ways at the end of this year. I'm lucky enough to have a boyfriend that loves me enough to have bought us tickets for the Philly show at the First Unitarian Church the day they went on sale. Rainer Maria has been one of my favorite bands since the first time I heard them. I love everything about them (except when Kyle sings. Sorry.) I had the pleasure of seeing them twice in the past year, where as in previous years something always held me back from seeing them, one way or another.It's not "cool" to like them anymore, but who's to really say what's cool, anyway? All of the indie snobs that abandon bands like Rainer Maria in favor of bands with more keyboards, or sea-shanty lyrics can kiss my ass.They will be sorely missed.

    Spencer Owen says Now hold on... keyboards are perfectly reasonable instruments. I do, however, applaud your denigration of sea-shanty lyrics.

    to says Oh, I didn't mean that I don't like keyboards per se, but more that I'm mad that people are abandoning more organic bands like Rainer Maria for the more electronic sound.
